NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN CONSULTATION
A Neighbourhood Plan has been prepared for the village. Before it goes to Babergh District Council for the Regulation 14 Pre Submission Stage a Public Consultation takes place so that residents’ views can be taken into account. This Public Consultation will take place from:
SUNDAY 1ST MARCH to SATURDAY 18TH APRIL 2020
COPIES are available in the Capel St Mary Library and the Parish Council Office, 27a The Street. They can be read during their normal opening hours.
ALL PUBLIC MEETINGS ARE NOW CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Documents and response forms remain available to view online and in the Library
Any queries can be made via email or telephone to the clerk or councillors
RESPONSE FORMS will be available in the Library and the Parish Council Office from the 1st March, where post boxes will be available for your completed forms. There will also be a post box in Drayton Insurances Services. Forms can also be downloaded and emailed to the Clerk at email@example.com
What is Neighbourhood Planning?
Neighbourhood planning gives communities direct power to develop a shared vision for their neighbourhood and shape the development and growth of their local area. They are able to choose where they want new homes, shops and offices to be built, have their say on what those new buildings should look like and what infrastructure should be provided, and grant planning permission for the new buildings they want to see go ahead. Neighbourhood planning provides a powerful set of tools for local people to ensure that they get the right types of development for their community where the ambition of the neighbourhood is aligned with the strategic needs and priorities of the wider local area.
What is the benefit of having a Neighbourhood Plan?
Neighbourhood planning enables communities to play a much stronger role in shaping the areas in which they live and work and in supporting new development proposals. This is because unlike the parish, village or town plans that communities may have prepared, a neighbourhood plan forms part of the development plan and sits alongside the Babergh and Mid-Suffolk Local Plan prepared by the local planning authority. Decisions on planning applications will be made using both the Local Plan and the neighbourhood plan, and any other material considerations.

Neighbourhood Plan Call For Sites
As part of our Neighbourhood Plan we are obliged to invite from any resident, landowner, business, developer or agent to submit a site or sites for consideration in the Neighbourhood Plan for development.
Any application must include the following:
Site Plan (showing red line boundary around the site)
Site Area in Hectares
Expected Number of Units
Timescales for Development eg. available now or at some point in the future, any barriers to delivery eg. legal issues, contamination etc.
Any application must be delivered to the Parish Council office by 28th February 2019.
