The Neighbourhood Plan being created for Capel St Mary is designed to plan Capel St Mary over the next 15 years taking into consideration the views of the residents.
It involves allocating sites for future developments, and matching infrastructure to housing developments.
In November a questionnaire was delivered to every household in Capel St Mary so that residents could have their say on how they would like the village to develop.
The Neighbourhood Plan must be compatible with Babergh District Council's Local Plan so they will have to prove the final version of the plan.
Once Babergh District Council have done this, they will hold a referendum in the village when residents will have an opportunity to vote for or against the Neighbourhood Plan.
Whilst a Neighbourhood Plan is not a document refusing any development, if approved it has a legal status and will enable residents to fight the overdevelopment of Capel St Mary giving us the opportunity to have the right houses in the right places.
